As a design leader, my leadership philosophy centers on fostering creativity, maintaining high standards, and creating an environment where designers can do their best work. As part of my commitment to invest in young designers, I also offer pro-bono mentorship to aspiring designers and career switchers entering UX.
I'm involved with the entire process of building new features: I collaborate with engineering to build and ship those features, and I prioritize enhancements and new features while communicating product vision and business priorities to engineering, design, customer research, and analysis teams. I am active in the launch of the product, and I frequently refine our design solutions in the face of data, heuristic review, and user feedback.
Senior Software Engineer, Adobe
One of the great tragedies for me upon leaving my position at Behance was not being able to work with Jeannie anymore. She's obviously got incredible taste and aesthetic in her work. Just look at her portfolio. It speaks for itself. But working with her as a developer was the kind of experience most web devs are hoping for. She's incredibly empathetic and understanding of the development process and has deep insight into how software is made. That instantly ups productivity on getting something delivered with the least amount of conceptual compromise. The relationship and culture she helps foster with the dev team only helps to further Behance into a brighter future. I hope to work with her again in the future and will be sure to antagonize her with job openings where I am.
Lead Brand & Communications Designer, Adobe
I had the pleasure of working with Jeannie for 3 years at Behance/Adobe. Not only is she a talented designer, Jeannie has amazing leadership skills. She is an excellent communicator, always clear, approachable, and ensures everyone is on the same page, making collaboration smooth and efficient. She played a huge role in building our team culture, making our work environment in the office awesome. Jeannie is an all round amazing human, I often reflect upon my time at Behance with the fondest memories of working with her. Her design skills, leadership, and team-building abilities make her a huge asset, anyone would be lucky to work with her!
Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, Spotify
I have worked with Jeannie for over 5 years on countless projects both internal and external. She is excellent at bridging the communication gap between engineering and design to ensure end users always get the best experience possible. If something doesn't look right, she is always ready to contribute effectively to a solution. Her designs and product decisions are well thought out, empathetic, and justified. If given the chance to work with her again in the future, I would jump at the opportunity.
